Kyle Cornelison (b. 2004) began his piano studies at age 3 and is currently a student at Texas Christian University, where he studies piano and composition. There, he has received piano instruction from Michael Bukhman, and composition lessons from Trey Gunter, Blaise Ferrandino, Martin Blessinger, and Neil Anderson-Himmelspach.
His pre-college instructors include Alex McDonald, Marcy McDonald, Stephanie Johnson, Stephen Hughes, Katy Myers, and his grandmother, Carol Cornelison.
As an accomplished pianist, Kyle performed as the featured young artist in For Love of Music Society's Fall 2021 concert, where he "stunned the audience with his performance..." (Palestine Herald-Press). In 2024, he performed as a soloist with the Mozart Academy of North Texas Chamber Orchestra. He is an active and well-performed musician at TCU and regularly performs as a soloist and accompanist in recitals and premieres of new music. He currently performs with the North Texas Symphony Orchestra.
As an award-winning composer and sound designer, he has scored numerous short films, as well as a full-length documentary that was premiered in Duluth, Minnesota, by the St. Louis County Historical Society. His concert works have dually won four 24-hour composition competitions at TCU, and his electronic compositions are available to stream on all major streaming services. He is an active member of the Society of Composers, Inc., currently serving as Vice President of the TCU chapter.
