About me

Kyle Cornelison (b. 2004) began his piano studies at age 3, and earned his BM in Piano Performance at Texas Christian University in 2026 with piano instruction from Michael Bukhman, and composition lessons from Trey Gunter, Blaise Ferrandino, Martin Blessinger, and Neil Anderson-Himmelspach. He is currently pursuing his MM in Music Composition at TCU under the instruction of Till Meyn.

His pre-college instructors include Alex McDonald, Marcy McDonald, Stephanie Johnson, Stephen Hughes, Katy Myers, and his grandmother, Carol Cornelison.

As an accomplished pianist, Kyle performed as the featured young artist in For Love of Music Society's Fall 2021 concert, where he "stunned the audience with his performance..." (Palestine Herald-Press). In 2024, he performed as a soloist with the Mozart Academy of North Texas Chamber Orchestra, and in 2026, he performed his own piano concerto with the North Texas Symphony Orchestra. He is an active musician in the DFW area and regularly performs as a soloist and collaborator in recitals and premieres of new music, as well as in weddings, dinner parties, and jazz settings.

As an award-winning composer and sound designer, he has scored numerous films, including a feature-length documentary that premiered in Duluth, Minnesota, by the St. Louis County Historical Society. His concert works frequently win both composition and performance competitions, and his electronic compositions are available to stream on all major streaming services. 

As an audio engineer, he demonstrates immense versatility and produces high level products that are streamed worldwide, such as the Kairos Chamber Singers' debut album, Voices of a New Era, streamed in over 150 countries. Recently, he recorded and produced two recordings of Mahler's second symphony, performed by the North Texas Symphony Orchestra in Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
